Bolton’s 3rd Division League campaign nears an end, with what will be a defeat at home to Shrewsbury Town.
In its heyday, Burnden Park could hold crowds of up to 70,000, but with the club struggling and for safety reasons, capacity was reduced and a section of the embankment (where there had been the infamous fatal crush of 1946) sold off in 1986 to make way for an incongruous Normid superstore.

A ground (and superstore) now gone.
